Note to self

Sometimes,
the most powerful place of warfare
Is when you are flat on your back,
soaking in worship.

The Beach

You are calling me
In the wind and the waves
"Strip off all that hinders
And walk down the beach"

You are calling me
My feet sink in wet sand
And I wade through the water
To the sound of your voice

You are calling me
Into the deep
To dive into cold
To plunge under water

You are calling me
There is so much unknown
But for your voice in the waves
"Come here girl, come deeper."

At the Jetty

I’ve found some time
And I’m coming to look
Are you still there?

By the lapping water
In the shade of the trees
As you once were in my dream

And my heart it leaps
For there you are
Sitting down at the jetty
In the cool of the day
Waiting for me
Waiting all this time

And of course that’s where you are
The lake is full of fish
And you’ve been waiting for me
To come and be with you

We sit side by side
Legs fall in the water
Which laps oh so gently
In the peaceful place
I’m shy in your presence
For you are captivating

Every now and then
My eyes dare to look
Full in your face

At your eyes
Your smile

Lord I have so much to learn
But right now we’ll just sit
On the edge of the jetty
With our legs in the water

Jack

Our time was brief,
your life was short,
but know Son, you are loved.
We know so well,
you're in safe hands
with Father God above.

I know not of
the mysteries,
the details in and out.
But one day
we will meet you Son.
We'll tell you, we're so proud.
